digital fanart charaDes scribbles moonburned emotion synthesis |
short faq: who the heck are you? my name is jen, and i'm a rising sophomore at ringling school of art and design, which has nothing to do with the circus. for more info than that, i've got a whole page about me. what do you use to draw? i do note whatever media i used on the actual piece, but hell, i'll state it again here. typically (on my fanart and charaDes) i use mechanical pencils (no specific brand). if i feel like "inking" then i'll use a black pigma micron pen, or combination thereof (sizes 01-05). (i personally like the 05 because as you'll notice i like to use a rather heavy outline with my ink, and the 05 gives me a much bolder line than the 01. most of the people i know like the 01 and the 05 scares them very much. recently i even bought a 08 and i can't wait to use the thing.) colored pieces are done either in photoshop or paint shop pro6, with colored pencils of an indeterminate origin that i have had laying about the house for practically ever, or with my prized prismacolor markers. do you trace? only when i'm inking. *laff* seriously, though, NO. do you think i would put up a gallery of my "tracings"? i don't even like to "copy pictures" for my fanart unless it's a new character that i'm "getting a feel for"; even then i don't "count" those as real fanart. hey, your so-called "original" charaDes looks a lot like (fill in the blank). all i can say is that i read a lot of comics, watch a lot of anime, and see a lot of movies. there are bound to be influences from other series or projects. any similarities to existing characters is completely unintentional. i really like your charaDes. can you design someone for me? my original characters take a lot of time to develop. many of them have been in the works for years. therefore i will not design your RP chara/Mary Sue/etc from scratch. however, i will work from text information that you e-mail me to try my darndest to bring your character to life on the page. for a small fee i will even send you the original artwork! will you draw me a picture? gifts are done in my spare time, of which there is not much, and i do them out of the kindness of my heart alone for friends and family members. but, if you wanna talk commission, then by all means e-mail me and i'll certainly see what i can do for you. i like such-and-such a piece. can i have it? k, here's my rules for that sorta thing:
