2413
I began working on "2413" on September 17, 1995, and continued working on it until the plot degenerated into so much mush. The story was written from a first-person point of view, that person being Taryn Rogers. Since the degeneration of the plot (which pretty much consisted of a bunch of pseudo-superheroes sitting around talking to one another), I've taken the story up again, hoping to fix any errors I may have made in the past with characterizaion or plot. Fortunately, none of the characters are deliberate X-ripoffs any more; they've since spoken to me and told me exactly what was going through their heads and the like. I think perhaps a few vestigial remains of their intended characters might be around, but for the most part, they've vanished.

The Characters
As far as X-Men go, each of them wound up in portions of the 2413 characters in my original draft. Mitch is essentially Cyclops, or at least what I perceived him to be, and Mitch's lovely telepathic wife Miriam was for all intents and purposes Scott's lovely telepathic wife Jean Grey. Dionne Wilder, absent from more recent versions of the story, was intended to be a representation of Storm, albeit a teleporting one. Kylie Donner was meant to be a form of Jubilee -- in the original plans she became a good friend to Taryn, considering her outgoing personality, but that never came to pass as Kylie soon degenerated into the Land of Bitchiness. I was never sure who Alex was. Ryan, entering later in the story, was provided as a love interest for Taryn, who was never meant to have bi-coloured hair like Rogue's.

Recently, however, I began an overhaul of the story, including fresh character designs. Ryan had never really been designed properly, as his image shifted with each story, but I got him to cooperate. Taryn's design was finally nailed down after several months of chameleon-like shifting and changing on me; she's really tricky when it comes down to deciding on her appearance. But these are all just facets of the characters that I have come to know and love in the years since their inception. These people truly are the favorites of my own creation, and hopefully one day I will be able to tell their story in full.
