It's all about Fushigi Yuugi. I learned this one fateful night when Sarah decided to bring over her FY episodes. I watched a good chunk of them in the first night. There was no need to stop. Never mind that it was finals week and I should have been working on my projects. There was this absolutely beautiful story unfolding before my eyes, and Light was it addictive! And ... and there was that absolutely cute guy in the first episode ... ^_^;; I certainly couldn't blame Miaka for falling for Tamahome. And so, I identified a lot with Miaka. Sure, I've never been trapped inside a book, but I'd written fanfic, and certainly that was close enough... I thought it was cool that she wasn't afraid to fight off the bad guys, and was determined to go alone for most of her journey through the Shi Jin Ten Sho.



Undying devotion. That's what Tama's all about. He is fiercely loyal to both Miaka and his family, and would do anything to save those he loves. Anything. It's the sort of devotion that I prize ... and probably the same sort that would drive me absolutely crazy. Still, there's definitely something to be said for the kind of love that just lasts like Tama and Miaka's.
