Past Comix Cast of Characters Boys for Galatea |
It started innocently enough. I was chatting with some of those weirdos I call my friends, and someone (I don't remember who, perhaps it was a joint thought, y'know, like the Borg collective...) had the wacky idea that Gundam Wing might make a good comedy series ... the premise was simple enough, just the G-boys stuck in a house together a la the Real World dealing with the horrifying reality that they'd have to actually live together and be, ohmigosh, civil. And that in itself spawned a series of episodes that we talked about but never wrote down, and quite frankly, the world is probably better for it ... Anyway, despite the fact that we're all crazy art students, I took it upon myself to draw out a few of the ideas in little chibified storyboard strips. (Slacker that I am, I'm currently working on "polishing" these strips, and I'll be posting the series from the beginning once I've done that.) And it just snowballed from there, until one night, at about 3 am, I came up with these bizarre little things about the boys in my head. The plots (if they can be called that) don't usually strike until well after midnight ... then I draw them out with a mechanical pencil, ink the next day or whenever I have time, and color in Photoshop. (Unfortunately the computer I have at home doesn't have Photoshop installed, and I can't save in the demos I can download, so I'm using Paint Shop Pro here.) |
